Here and Now

Since retirement, I describe my life as ‘self directed’.  No longer constrained by the corporate arena, I have indulged interests in reading, travel, hiking, and playing golf.  I get my exercise when our dogs take me to walk twice a day!  Nancy is retired from a career in teaching/counseling and is active with community volunteer work, fitness exercise, and most recently music lessons on the dulcimer and mandolin.  We are settled into our pursuits and plan to enjoy whatever comes along.

The photos posted on the AHS website motivated me to dig deep into the picture box, and I found the enclosed item which was actually taken on graduation day 1960.  I had forgotten that our caps and gowns were actually white.

Along the Way

Originally from South Carolina, I lived in many different places growing up as an Air Force dependent.  After graduating from Clemson in Mechanical Engineering in 1964, I joined IBM, and spent my entire career there involved with development and project management of office products.  While on leave from IBM for Army service, I had a unique technical ‘sub assignment’ to NASA at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. (YES…rocket science)

Nancy and I have moved several times with IBM, and have lived in Lexington, KY, Niwot, CO, Tucson, AZ, and finally settled in Longmont, CO in 1993.  Longmont is a livable sized town of approximately 85,000 located 35 miles north of Denver.

Greetings Craig! Thank you for donating your time and talent as the 'Class Webmaster', and I'll leave the arrangement of these items to your discretion. I noticed most other postings begin with a side by side 'then and now' photos, so I did edit down a recent picture (Jan. 2010) to a head and shoulders shot for that purpose.

Can't say if I will be attending the reunion, but I can supply this information for the class archive. Let me knowif any of these files needs to be resent. I noticed from your bio that you are an inventor of merit and I have anappreciation for that having spent much of my career in mechanical design and development.
Best Regards, ..........Clarence B. Beaudrot.........
