After high school, I enlisted in the Navy – diesel submarines. Served my 4 years and then settled in the Pacific Northwest. Over the next 40 years, I was an automotive service manager in the greater Seattle area. I retired in 2002, married my wife, did some volunteer work and even returned to college.
We moved to Wenatchee, WA in 2006 where my wife is a professor at Wenatchee Valley College. We are in the middle of the state, which works well. We have children and grandchildren in both Spokane and Seattle.
Also in 2006, I suffered a stroke. I'm still dealing with the after effects. The only long-range effects have been to my speech and writing ability. I can't always get out the words I want to say or write. So when we meet at the reunion and you want to know my life story, ask my wife!
