I see the eyes of my old friend, Mike Duggan in there...

Following the Navy and a year in college, I spend the next 11 years in law enforcement with the Dallas and Irving, TX, PD's, and the U. S. Border Patrol. Due to a love for coaching kids, which I did in my spare time, I went back to college and received my BA/Ed from Northeastern Oklahoma State University, Tahlequah, OK, in 1976, and have completed graduate work at Pittsburg (KS) State Univ., Univ. of Oklahoma (I AM NOT a Sooner....HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!),and Southwest Texas State Univ. (now Texas State). I'm just 9 hours short of an MA/Ed, but the effort and cost was definitely NOT worth the microscopic monetary enumeration.
I've been a H. S. teacher (Spanish, Social Studies, Biology) for the last 28 years. I’ve been at Smithville HS for the last 4 years. School colors: black and orange, what else? I'm going to teach for a couple of more years, but I retired from coaching baseball, softball, football, and volleyball about 4 years ago. In 1993, my softball team was the Texas 5-A State Quarterfinalists and the same group of freshman girls got us back to the State Championship game in 1996. Unfortunately, we lost the game in the bottom of the last inning, but we finished as State Runner-up.
Like many, I’m a military brat that came to Alaska due to my father’s duty assignment. I was fortunate enough to have arrived just before my freshman year began and remained for the entire 4 years of high school. Dad dragged me back to Texas very reluctantly, as I had grown to love the ‘Last Frontier’ and made some good friends I knew I would probably never see again. Sadly, I have seen exactly 4 of my classmates since graduation, talked to 4 more on the phone and exchanged e-mails with 3 more. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to being there for the 50th.
After High School, I joined the U. S. Navy and served 3 years on active duty. I was on board the USS Grenadier SS-525 (a submarine) out of Key West, FL, and participated in the Cuban Blockade during the Missile Crisis in 1962. I joined the Naval Reserves in 1985 and spent most of my time in Naval Special Warfare (SEALs and Special Boat Units). I was recalled to active duty twice, including Desert Shield/Storm in 1991. I retired in 2002 as a Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9).

I'm an avid biker that started out with a Cushman motor scooter in Anchorage. I graduated up to dirt bikes and owned two BSA's (and have ridden a lot of Triumph Bonnevilles): a 225 Lightning and a 441 Victor. I owned a Honda 800 Shadow for several years, but finally bought a real motorcycle: an '04 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider that I traded in on an '07 Geezer Glide (H-D Electra Glide Ultra Classic). I've made several multi-thousand mile trips through this wonderful country that God has blessed with my fellow biker buddy, Billy, also a retired Navy Chief, who is like the brother I never had.
I've been married for the last 24 years to my dear and wonderful wife, Pat, who I credit with cleaning up my act considerably. (I sort of hung on to my 'Wild Child' ways for a long time). I have 4 natural children, 2 stepdaughters (whom I love as my own), and 11 grandchildren with one in the oven. (My kids haven't figured out what caused it, either.)
I currently live in the beautiful Central Texas Hill Country in Kyle, between the Alamo (San Antonio) and the Texas Longhorns (Austin). Lots of history and great roads to ride on with great scenery.
Mike loves his wife, his family, bikes and cigars

After spending time with the most important loves in my life: my wife, my kids, my grandkids, and my Harley, I really like to learn new languages (which I've used many times in my travels) and I speak a few well (Spanish, German, Italian and even a little English). In addition to a near addiction to traveling (been in many foreign countries and all but 7 states), I really love photography and sort of specialize in the outdoors: landscapes, nature, sunrises, and sunsets. I've been able to build a respectable portfolio over the years.
Hope all is going well with you. I really am getting antsy about the reunion......hooked up on line with an old friend, Corrie Lynne Oborn (now Player).....I was amazed to find out how close we have been to each other over the years and neither had a clue.....same with Fred Lohse......he lived in my back yard for 5 years (outside of Austin) and I had no clue, either.
I've really missed the four years I lived in Alaska and count it as the most special period of time in my life. I would greatly enjoy it if some of you would contact me so we could talk about those great years. 512-818-5749
We should all be so blessed
