After graduation I continued to work at the 4th Ave Theater as I had from the age of 16 (concessions and then Box office. From there I did a myriad of things, City file clerk, shoe repair helper, telephone book maker, greeting card distributor, addressoghaph operator at N.C.Co, 1st cocktail waitress at Richmond’s Lounge ( now the Gas Light) which was owned by my Grandfather, (run by my Uncle Mike O’Neill), and a liquor store clerk.

My daughter was born in 1965. !n 1967 I attended Laboratory Assistant school for a year. Then worked at Providence Hosp. I operated the chemistry machine ( It did 12 chemistrys in 1min. pretty big deal at the time!

I moved to Alabama in 1974 raised cows, hogs, chickens, horses, goats and an array of cats and dogs. Sabrina (my daughter) and I drove back to Alaska in Oct of 1979, where I worked as a check filer at 1st Nat. Bank for awhile then worked at Alaska Hospital as a phlebotomist ( I drew blood) until 1982 after Sabrina was killed.

Then I attempted to help homeless kids get off the streets until I ran out of funds. Then went to work as a bartender. Went to Real Estate school, passed the exam but never worked at it. Was a courier for a lab, Then I started babysitting for my Nephew and Niece in 1992 started with 1, 2 1/2 year old boy. Terry Michael (who is now serving in the army in Korea) the his brother Josh, their friend’s girl Sarah, and Brooke until they started school.

About then my Dad was diagnosed with A.L.S. so I helped him out until he passed away. Then my sister had a baby girl, Celia, so I cared for her until she started school. Then helped my Mom with her care until she passed away. About that time the mother of Sarah and Brooke had another daughter, so now I keep her company 2 days a week.

I really enjoy hockey (especially when the kids play) and have been going to the games since my 2nd youngest brother started playing 40 yrs ago. I reconnected with Fronna Rutlege (Snelson) when her boys and my brother were playing Senior League hocky at Ben Boekey What Fun! I also knit, crochet, sew, try to figure out this silly computer!

I have been putting all my folks’s pictures on DVD, and trying to put our ancestry in some sort of historical order, not just the names but who they were!

That’s about it!

Looking forward to seeing old friends, and aquaintences at the reunion, although, I do see my dearest ones more often than every 5 or 10 years.

Anchorage, Alaska

I was born at Providence Hospital on 9th and L St. Anchorage, Alaska, the 5th child of eventually 15 children. We moved to 11th and S st. shortly after I was born and lived there until 1950 when we moved to Elmendorf A.F. B where my Father was employed as a Civil Service heavy equipment mechanic. That is where I met Lois Brown (Turinsky). We played together and took dance lessons together. I didn’t last very long at that. I was much more interested in baseball (sandlot style).

We returned to the house at 11th & S st. in 1955. I was in the 7th grade at the Jr. High downtown with the majority of all of you. Then to High School at A.H.S. where I just barley graduated in 1960.
