While attending AMU (Now Alaska Pacific University) I meet my husband Ed who had just returned from serving in the Marines. We have lived in Alaska for all these years except for three years when we lived in Queensland, Australia when I also taught school. We have three married Children, Sabrina, and twins Brent and Bridget. Sabrina has two children (8 & 11) and lives in my original hometown in the Midwest. Brent has two children (2 & 3), Bridget one stepdaughter (15) and both twins live in Anchorage.
I love spending time or traveling with my children and grandchildren.

Rosemary Cecil and Sandy 1960 and 2005
Rosemary Cecil was one of my best friends in high school. We especially have great memories of Big Lake where both of our families had cabins and of being in Rainbow Girls together. We have kept in contact and have visited here, California and in Mexico over the years. Carol Beeler was another good friend and have recently lost contact with each other. If anyone knows what happened to her please let me know.
Some of my favorite memories of my high school years include the train trips to Palmer for basketball games, performing with Cora Horton’s choir, and of course driving my car - the Green Ghost.

We also do quite a bit of traveling and have been through the Orient, Indonesia, Australia, Mexico and Europe. I recently completed a personal goal of having been in all 50 states with a trip throughout upper New England. A favorite trip was a cruise down the Danube and spending time in Nuremburg visiting two German girls who were here on a summer Fulbright Scholarship. We were their host family while they were in Anchorage attending UAA. We are involved in a group that help rebuild schools in Mexico and love to see the results of those efforts.
We also love spending time at our place on a lake near Talkeetna where I volunteer as the “Loon Watcher” .

*Many of you may remember me because I no doubt waited on you when you came to our family drive-in. My family owned the first A & W outside the Lower 48. Because we went to school split-shifting I could still work on a part-time basis and still have time to do homework.

Having recently moved to a condo after 36 years in the same house, I haven’t had a lot of free time but when I do I enjoy 4 wheeling, genealogy, birding and am into swimming & water aerobics which I do three times a week. I am a certifiable Sudoku nut and also an avid reader.
