I received my BS degree from the University of New Mexico and my MS degree from California State University Los Angeles. I did postgraduate work at several other Cal State universities and universities in Mexico. I taught elementary school for 43 years. I taught in Elsinore, Edwards AFB, and Pico Rivera—all in California. During that time I taught all grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I was also a Reading Specialist for 20 years. I was a Mentor teacher and Beginning Teacher Mentor/Support Person. I also wrote and received 2 Technology Grants for my school.

I have a wonderful family. My son, Larry and his wife Christy live in the state of Washington. I have 3 beautiful grand daughters: Angela—15, Rosie—13, and Kathleen—8. I visit them as often as I can. I have a brother, Steve, in Michigan, another brother, Ron, in So. Carolina, and a sister, Lorrie, in Washington DC.
For fun, I love to paint (water colors), swim, read and play bridge. I’ve won some amateur art shows, 1st and 2nd prize ribbons.

I was active in the education association at the local, state and national level. I held many offices at all levels. I happened to be president during a strike in 1976. That was an experience. I was active in the State Association (CTA): State IPD Chairperson, State Council Representative and ABC (Policitical Funding) Representative. I received the State Teacher in Politics Award, and the State WHO (We Honor Ours) Award. I was active in the National Education Association as well. I even served a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Universities and Representative Council representative.
I am Master Catechist for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and a graduate of Loyola Bible Institute. I am active at St. Lorenzo Catholic Church in Walnut serving as a Eucharistic Minister, RCIA and Adult Formation Catechist, and Bible Study Leader.
This year I am also a catechist for children who will be making their First Communion. Presently I teach on-line classes for Regis University which is in Denver, Colorado. I teach the following classes: Teaching Reading and Writing, Technology for Educators, and Peer Mentoring & Support. I needed something to do when I retired. I’m also active in the Walnut Valley Women’s Club. We do lots of philanthropic work for the people in our city such as: scholarships ($14,000 last year), food bank, TAPP, Clothes, etc. for those in need, Women’s Shelter, and many other projects.
I’m also a member of the Century Singers of Whittier. We perform for many groups especially at Christmas time. We give two main performances a year. Our main goal, besides enjoying singing, is to raise money for music scholarships. Last year we gave $8000 worth of scholarships. I even got involved in politics for many years. I ran for the State Assembly in the 52nd Assembly District. Obviously I didn’t win, but I did the most votes any Democrat ever go in our district. I was selected Democrat of the Year.

"I lost contact with her years ago. Wish I knew how to get a hold of her. At his point I'm planning on coming.
